Cheryl Rubin
Vice President, Communications
Cheryl is an award-winning 20-year veteran with public relations experience in the political, business and non-profit arenas. She joined the California Forest Products Commission as Vice President of Communications in 2001.
Cheryl develops and implements the Commission's marketing program, which educates policymakers, the media, opinion leaders, consumers, the business community, educators and other key audiences on the benefits of forestry and forest products in California.
From 1988-2000, Cheryl served as Director of Public Relations at The Heritage Foundation - one of Washington's most influential organizations. In that position, she played a major role in making Heritage America's best known public policy group and the "think tank" most quoted by the nation's media.
Cheryl is a recipient of the public relations industry's highest honor, the Silver Anvil Award. She is a former United Way of America Director of Public Relations and Madison Avenue public relations executive who orchestrated extensive media campaigns on behalf of Fortune 500 companies and trade associations.
Cheryl also worked for ABC-TV's "Good Morning America," United Press International and for Atlanta's WSB-TV and also a CBS affiliated news/talk radio station.
The New York City native is a graduate of the University of Georgia journalism school. While playing intercollegiate tennis, basketball and volleyball, Cheryl received the "Outstanding College Athlete of the Year" Award.
